The 13th-ranked UCLA men’s golf team prepares this week to compete in the U.S. Collegiate Championships, hosted by Georgia Tech at The Golf Club of Georgia.
The Bruins, who placed second earlier this month at the Erin Hills Intercollegiate, will be aiming for their first team title in their second start of the season.
Chan, Garrick and Shah each recorded Top 20 results in UCLA’s last event, the Erin Hills Intercollegiate, with Chan tying for third place and Garrick tying for sixth following a final round 65 (-7). Shah tied for 20th. Knapp and Pinizzotto will be making their first starts of the season.
The 15-team field is highlighted by No. 2 ranked Georgia Tech, which has won its signature event two of the last three years. Also competing are No. 4 Texas A&M, sixth-ranked Washington, No. 8 Stanford and ninth-ranked Oklahoma State.
This year’s individual winner will receive an exemption to compete in the Wichita Air Capital Classic in June 2014 as part of the Web.com Tour.
The Golf Club of Georgia Lakeside Course will play to par of 72 over 7,017 yards. Friday tee times begin at 8:50 a.m. from the first tee. In addition, live scoring will be provided on GolfStat.com and a live webcast for the final two rounds beginning at noon Pacific time will be broadcast here.
