UCLA freshman Danusia Francis returned to England to compete at Sunday's 2013 British Team Championships and led her Heathrow team to a second place finish.
Francis competed on uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise and earned top 3 finishes on all three. She placed first on beam with a score of 13.050, was second on bars with a 13.250, and tied for third on floor with a 13.350.
"I was extremely happy with how my competition went; I managed to do three successful routines and place first, second and third on the events I did," said Francis. "It was so good to see my teammates from Great Britain and tell them all about my experience this year at UCLA."
Heathrow finished with 155.000 points, a little over a point behind first-place finisher The Academy (156.050).
Francis had a very successful freshman season at UCLA, earning first-team All-America honors on the balance beam and stealing the show at the NCAA Event Finals when she became the first collegiate gymnast to perform a sideways aerial on beam. Francis hit all 31 of her routines in team competition and averaged 9.820 on beam and 9.780 on bars, with highs of 9.95 on beam, 9.875 on bars and 9.8 on floor.
