LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Senior Tabi Love was named AVCA First-Team All-America on Wednesday, while senior Rachael Kidder earned Honorable Mention All-America accolades. The A-A award for Love is the first of her career and the second in a row for Kidder.
The Bruins have earned 45 All-America awards in the program's history and Love's first-team honor is the 25th for UCLA. The awards will be presented on Dec. 14 in Louisville, Ky. at the AVCA All-America/Players of the Year Banquet.
Love led the Bruins in kills (4.51) and points (4.94) per set this season. Love had double figures in kills in 29 of 31 matches, leading the team in kills in a match 21 times. The senior surpassed the 20-kill plateau nine times and also had a pair of double-doubles.
Kidder, who was named First-Team All-America a year ago, was second on the squad with 3.98 kps and 4.49 pps. She had 27 matches with at least 10 kills and a pair with over 20. The senior added four double-doubles, leading the Bruins in kills in 13 contests.
