Los Angeles, CA --UCLA's LA Tennis Center has been selected as a host site for the first two rounds of the men's 2001 NCAA Division I Tennis Championships. The No. 3 ranked UCLA Bruins were selected as the number two seed for the 2001 NCAA Men's Tennis Championships announced by the NCAA selection committee on May 3. The 64-team format will be divided into 16 regional sites.
The Bruins (20-2) will face Sacramento State (20-2) in the opening round on May 12 at the LA Tennis Center at 1:00 pm. The two other teams selected to the regional are South Carolina (12-12) and the University of South Florida (16-7), who are slated to face each other in the other first round match on Saturday at 10:00 am. The regional championships final will take place on Sunday, May 13 at noon.
Tickets for the regionals can be purchased in advance by calling 310-UCLA-Win, or can be purchased at the LATC box office. Prices for adults will be $6.00, while youth/students will be charged $4.00 for admission. The box office will open one hour prior to the start of the matches on both Saturday and Sunday.
