Junior left-handed pitcher Dave Huff (Huntington Beach, CA/Edison HS) of the UCLA baseball team was selected as the UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week (Feb. 13-19).
Huff earned his first win of the season for UCLA on Saturday in game two of a doubleheader against Pacific on the road, going 8.0 innings with a season-high 15 strikeouts, allowing just one run on two hits. Huff opened the game in impressive fashion by striking out the first nine batters he faced in a row. On the season, Huff is 1-1 with a team-best 1.61 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 22.1 innings pitched. He was named this week's National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball.
This is Huff's first UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
