Dwyer Enters Match Play As Top Qualifier at Trans National Championships

Santa Ana Pueblo, NM - UCLA senior Bridget Dwyer (Kailua, HI) shot a 69 in the second round of the Women's Trans National Amateur Championship at the Twin Warriors Golf Club to finish as the top qualifier with a two-round total of seven-under par (137 total). It was Dwyer's second consecutive day as the leader; she shot a 68 to lead after the first round.

Senior Hana Kim fired a 71 and placed third in the qualifier with a score of 141. Melissa Martin's 78 dropped her to a tie for 11th place with a two round total of 148, and Gina Umeck vaulted up to 37th with a second-round score of 72 (153 total). Dwyer, Kim, Martin and Umeck qualified for the Championship Flight Match Play. Yvonne Choe, with a two-day total of 161 (80-81) qualified in the Second Flight Match Play. The first round of match play begins Wednesday at 7:00 am.
