UCLA's Kelly Rulon, a junior driver from Point Loma, California has been named MPSF Mikasa Player of the Week for the second time this season. She was also given this honor two weeks ago after three Bruin victories in three days.
This past weekend, Rulon helped lead the Bruins to two impressive MPSF wins. On Saturday, the Bruins defeated San Jose 15-5 in their home opener. Rulon had four goals for the team, all in the first half. On Sunday, UCLA traveled to UC Irvine. Rulon had four goals in that game as well, and three of the four came in the first half.
The eight goals for the weekend came on 12 shots, a 67% scoring rate. Rulon's offensive prowess has helped the Bruins take early leads in games, outscoring their opponents 70-13 in the first half so far this season. Rulon has 28 goals in 9 games.
