The top-ranked and unbeaten UCLA men's volleyball team this week hosts three matches to continue its 10-match homestand.
On Wednesday, Feb. 18, the Bruins (10-0, 8-0) host UC Santa Barbara (3-4, 2-4) at 7 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion. On Friday, Feb. 20, the Bruins host non-league opponent Cal State San Bernardino and on Sat., Feb. 21, the Bruins host Cal State Northridge (3-6, 1-6). Both of these matches will be played at 7 p.m. in the John Wooden Center.
Last week the Bruins won two league matches. On Friday they defeated San Diego State, 15-13, 15-2, 15-5 and on Saturday they swept UC San Diego. Junior Danny Farmer and sophomore Evan Thatcher led the Bruins against the Aztecs with 14 kills apiece. Senior Tom Stillwell added eight kills without an error and also posted five blocks.
Against UCSD, Stillwell led all players with 16 kills and eight digs in the Bruins' 15-5, 15-13, 15-6 victory. In Game 2, the Bruins rallied from a 11-6 deficit to tie the score at 13-13 and scored the final two points to win.
