In today's MPSF match-up between the UCLA Bruins and Arizona State Sun Devils, the Bruins came away with a 13-5 victory. UCLA improves to 16-3 on the season, 6-1 in MPSF competition.
Leading the Bruins in today's game was sophomore Katherine Belden. She had four goals, one per quarter, on the day. Freshman Kacy Kunkel had a hat trick, with two of her three goals coming in the third quarter. Freshman Brittney Bowlus and sophomore Kristina Kunkel each scored a pair of goals. And, Molly Cahill and Lauren Heineck each netted a goal in the Bruins' victory. Freshman goalie Emily Feher had four saves on the day.
For the Sun Devils, Katie Hedley had three goals, all penalty shots. Also scoring for Arizona State were Elaine Bentley and Kimberlee Stevens. Both scored a goal in the game. Starting goalie Jennifer Sanderson had a pair of saves. Elizabeth Houck, who came in during the fourth quarter, also had a pair of saves.
This week, the Bruins will face Loyola Marymount on Wednesday,UC Irvine on Thursday and Long Beach State on Saturday.
