The UCLA men's golf junior varsity team took first-place honors at the Anteater Invitational, hosted by UC Irvine at the Santa Ana Country Club.
The Bruins posted a final round score of 293, five-over par, and finished with a 54-hole score of 872, 10 strokes ahead of second-place UC Irvine. Cal Poly Pomona placed third at 886, followed by fourth-place UC Riverside at 890.
Individually for the Bruins freshmen Peter Campbell, Joakim Renstrom and Chris Heintz placed among the Top 10. Campbell finished fourth at one-under 215 after a final round of even par 72. Renstrom battling flu-like symptoms, placed seventh at one-over par 217, and Heintz tied for eighth at four-over par 220. Senior Roy Moon tied for 13th place at 224 and sophomore Breene Murphy tied for 41st at 232.
Santa Clara's Justin Ahasic won medalist honors with a three-under par total of 213, despite a final round 75.
