No. 1 UCLA Resumes MPSF Play

The consensus across the nation is that UCLA is the top team in the country, holding first place in the MPSF standings and a No. 1 overall ranking. UCLA has dominated its opponents, having one of the highest scoring and lowest goals allowed averages per game. This season they are averaging 12.3 goals per game compared to 7.59 last year. In the first quarter, when Coach Krikorian plays his best players, the Bruins have outscored their opponents 75-15. They are 20-0 and 5-0 in the MPSF. This past week the Bruins were off, but they resume play on Thursday against No. 11 UC Irvine. On Saturday, the Bruins begin a five-game streak of road games in Tempe, Arizona against No. 18 Arizona State.

This Thursday at 1:00 PM, the Bruins will face the No. 11 UC Irvine Anteaters in an MPSF matchup. UCI is now 11-9 on the season, 4-5 in the MPSF. UCLA is 7-0 all time against the Anteaters.

Later This Week Arizona State - April 2, 2005 12:00 PM
On Saturday at 12:00 PM, UCLA has a road matchup with No. 18 Arizona State. ASU is 5-11 on the season and 1-4 in the MPSF. This is Arizona State's second year in the MPSF. UCLA played them last season and won 13-5.

Recap: Loyola Marymount - March 17, 2005
Two weeks ago, UCLA defeated No. 7 Loyola Marymount, 12-5. The Bruins dominated the first three quarters of this matchup. The game started with an LMU goal by Katie Hicks, but UCLA quickly responded. The Bruins went on to score 11 goals in a row. UCLA was unstoppable with its relentless offense and tough defense, and once again defeated another top 10 opponent.

Thalia Munro was the leading scorer for the Bruins with four gaols. Kelly Rulon added three. Freshmen Gabrielle Domanic and Jillian Kraus each had two. Kacy Kunkel scored once. Goalkeeper Emily Feher had 10 saves and Kathryn Krumpholz had two in the fourth quarter.
