LOS ANGELES, Calif. - UCLA forward Dijon Thompson has been named the U.S. Bank Pacific-10 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for December 13-19, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced Monday.

Thompson, a senior from Inglewood, Calif., scored a career-high 29 points, including 17 in the second half, in leading UCLA to a 81-79 victory over Michigan. He also collected 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season and third of his career. For the contest, Thompson made 12 of his 14 field goal attempts (.857), including three of four three-point attempts (.750). He played despite 13 stitches in his shooting hand and his index finger taped to his middle finger. Thompson had been out of the Bruins' lineup since injuring the hand against Boston College on December 5.

The Bruins (6-1), travel to Michigan State on Tuesday.

This is the first weekly honor for Thompson, and UCLA's 41st Player of the Week all-time.

Thompson's selection marks the second week in a row that a UCLA player has received the award. On December 13, the conference tabbed freshman Jordan Farmar.
