Ben Howland Developmental Boys Basketball Clinics UCLA men's basketball coach Ben Howland and his staff will conduct this summer three off-site developmental basketball clinics. The dates and sites are - June 4 at Diamond Bar HS, June 11 at Newbury Park HS and June 18 at Irvine Valley College.
The three off-campus sites (8 a.m.-1 p.m./$75 a clinic) are open to boys, grades 5-12 (players who have completed the 12th grade are ineligible). The clinics will focus both on the offensive and defensive elements of the game - including shooting, ball-handling, passing and man-to-man defense. The clinics feature instruction by the UCLA men's basketball staff, a Ben Howland adidas T-shirt, a John Wooden Pyramid of Success, instructional handouts and a 2004-05 UCLA men's basketball team photograph. UCLA Boys Basketball Camps UCLA Boys Basketball Summer Camps will feature two, day camps and two, overnight camps at Pauley Pavilion. The day camps (9 a.m.-3 p.m.) at a cost of $299 per camp, are June 21-24 and July 12-15. Open to boys, ages 6-12, this camp focuses on teaching the fundamental skills and introducing basic game strategy.
The overnight camps are July 7-11 and Aug. 3-7, at a cost of $499 (resident)/$425 (commuter). Open to boys, ages 9-18 (players who have completed the 12th grade are ineligible), the overnight camps are designed for players who are becoming serious about basketball and developing their skills, both individually and within a team environment.
The UCLA Boys Basketball Camps feature UCLA coaches, as well as experienced high school and college coaches. Fundamental instruction, along with individual and team competition, are elements of the camp's activities.
