Vagenas Goal Leads US Soccer Team to 1-0 Win

Winnipeg, Canada - The United States opened the men's soccer competition at the Pan American Games with a 1-0 victory over Cuba, winning on UCLA senior Pete Vagenas' 57th-minute goal.

The U.S. will next face Honduras Sunday, July 25.

Vagenas is one of five Bruins on the U.S. Under-23 National Team which is competing in Winnipeg, Canada at the Games. He is joined by seniors Sasha Victorine and Steve Shak, junior Carlos Bocanegra and sophomore Ryan Futagaki.
