In the pole vault, a foursome of vaulters jumped season-best marks as Landers and Murphy led the way with indoor lifetime-bests and provisional marks of 17-1 to finish tied for second. Junior David Shortenhaus and sophomore Zack Miller tied for fourth with season-best jumps of 16-9.25.

In the sprint events, freshman Garland West placed ninth overall with a season-best time of 7.10, while sophomore James Rhoades finished 11th in a time of 7.15 (season-best 7.11 in prelims). Senior Craig Everhart placed second in the 200 in a time of 21.47, followed by junior Brandon Johnson in third (21.64). Rhoades finished sixth (22.26), while West was ninth (22.56).

In the jumping events, freshman Luke Barr leaped to a season-best 6-8 in the high jump to finish tied for second, while sophomore Dominique Easterling also jumped a season-best, going 6-6 for seventh-place. Sophomore Michael Johnson, Jr. won the triple jump with a mark of 49-6.50, and senior Demetre Howard jumped an indoor lifetime-best 48-8 to place second.

In the long jump, the Bruins went 3-4-5-6 as Howard led the way, jumping an indoor lifetime-best by over two feet to finish third with a mark of 23-10.25, while Johnson placed fourth (23-5.50) and Easterling was fifth (23-3.25). Junior Chris Merriweather jumped an indoor lifetime-best of 23-2 to finish sixth.

The Bruins will head to Ames, IA and the Iowa Indoor Classic next weekend as they continue the indoor season. This meet has been targeted by the coaching staff as a premier spot for the team to excel and they will look to improve on already qualified NCAA marks, as well as look to pick up a few more qualifiers for the NCAA Championships in Arkansas.
