Katie Younglove Named to 2002 Verizon Academic All-America First Team

UCLA senior Katie Younglove (Sacramento, CA/St. Francis HS) was named to the 2002 Verizon Academic All-America Women's At-Large First Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Younglove, a communications major with a 3.829 cumulative gpa, is an eight-time All-American. In 2002, she was named for the second consecutive year to the 2002 Verizon Academic All-District VIII Women's At-Large First Team. In 2001, she received Verizon Academic All-America Third Team honors and was named to the Pac-10 All-Academic First Team. In 2000, she was Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention. Younglove is No. 2 in the 100 Fly (53.39) and 200 Fly (1:56.89) in school history.
