UCLA's women's water polo coach Adam Krikorian has signed Jillian Kraus, the consensus number one recruit in the nation, to a national letter of intent.
Kraus, a utility at Foothill High School in Santa Ana, has helped her high school team to three consecutive CIF titles while earning All-CIF Honors. A member of the USA National Youth Team, Kraus was a Junior Olympic All-American in both the 14 and 16-year old age brackets. She also earned All-American Honors in the 20-year old division in 2002. She was a Century League Swimming Champ in the 200 freestyle and her cousin is former UCLA football center Troy Danoff.
"Jillian is a great fit for our program and will undoubtedly be a successful student and athlete at UCLA," said Krikorian. "She is a fierce competitor with an intense work ethic and will certainly provide us with tremendous speed. We are very excited to welcome Jillian as part of the UCLA Water Polo family."
