Emily Feher Named MPSF Player of the Week

WOODLAND, Calif. - UCLA freshman goalkeeper Emily Feher (Santa Ana, Calif., Foothill HS) was named the MPSF Player of the Week after helping lead the Bruins to victories against three Top 20 opponents.

Feher held No. 7 Loyola Marymount to three goals while earning eight saves in UCLA's 4-3 win. Her saves against the Lions included a save on what would have been the tying score in the final possession of the game. Feher allowed only two goals while playing only the first-half in a 9-5 win at No. 16 UC Irvine and allowed only three goals with nine saves in a 5-4 road win against No. 4 Long Beach State. She has 130 saves on the season with a goals against average of 4.85.

Feher is the third Bruin to be named the MPSF Player of the Week this season. Kristina Kunkel was honored on March 2 and Lauren Heineck on March 9.

UCLA will wrap up the 2004 regular season with two games against MPSF opponents at Sunset Canyon Recreation Center. On Saturday, April 17 the Bruins will face No. 11 San Jose State and on Sunday, April 18 will face No. 2 Stanford. Both games will be at 1:00 PM and will help determine seeding for the MPSF Championships.
