Beth Goodwin Posts Record Time in 50m Fly at World University Games

In the second day of swimming competition at the World University Games, former Bruin Beth Goodwin posted a new Universiade record in the 50m fly. The 50m fly is a new event at the World University Games and Goodwin's time of 27.30 in the semi-finals (27.42 prelims) leads all qualifiers. The time also tops Goodwin's previous best time of 27.62.

Goodwin will compete in the 50m fly finals on Saturday and the 100m fly qualifiers on Sunday. Sara Platzer will swim in the 50m free qualifiers on Saturday.
