Honolulu - The third-ranked UCLA women's water polo team won its 10th-consecutive match with a 16-3 victory over No. 15 Hartwick on Wednesday. The win improves the Bruins to 20-2 overall, while the Hawks fall to 17-9.
UCLA jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first period after shutting out the Hawks for the first seven minutes of the match. The Bruins would lead 8-0 before Hartwick's Bronwen Knox ended the shutout with a goal at the 4:14 mark in the second period. UCLA would go on to lead 11-1 at the half.
Hartwick kept things close in the third period as the Bruins only outscored the Hawks 2-1 to lead 13-2 after three. UCLA would add three more goals in the fourth period while surrendering another goal to Knox with 25 seconds left in the match for its 16-3 win.
UCLA will next be in action on Friday, March 31 when the Bruins take on No. 5 Hawaii.
