LOS ANGELES - Steve Lavin's UCLA men's basketball team continues their 1999-2000 exhibition season Thursday night (Nov. 18) vs. the California Midwest All-Stars. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion.

The CA Midwest All-Stars are 2-10 overall. The All-Stars lost two games over the weekend, at USC (102-90) on Saturday and at Hawaii (92-84) on Sunday. The All-Stars don't play again until facing UCLA on Thursday. Brooklyn McLinn, a 6-1 guard who graduated from CS Northridge in 1994, led the All-Stars in both contests, getting 17 points at Hawaii and 26 vs. USC. The All-Stars' wins have been at Northern Illinois (87-80) on Nov. 9 and at Washington (94-87) on Nov. 11.

UCLA is 1-0 in the exhibition season, beating Kraitene (Lithuania) 90-66 on Nov. 10 in Pauley. The Bruins, because of injury, used only six players in that game and were led by sophomore Jerome Moiso's 31 points and 11 rebounds.

The Bruin men and women will open the 1999-2000 regular season on Tuesday, Nov. 23 in a doubleheader at Pauley Pavilion. UCLA's women will host Texas at 6 p.m. and the UCLA-Fairfield men's contest will start 30 minutes after the conclusion of the Bruin-Longhorn women's game.
