The UCLA men's golf team placed fifth at the Pepperdine Invitational Tuesday. The tournament was held at the Saticoy Country Club near Oxnard.
The Bruins posted a final round team score of 305, 17-over par, and finished with a 54-hole total of 889. UC Irvine won the event with a score of 868, four-over par, followed by Pepperdine at 869, Oklahoma at 884 and New Mexico at 887.
Individually, freshman Spencer Levin placed eighth with a score of 217, one-over par. Levin tied for fifth in his first tournament two weeks ago. Junior Roy Moon tied for 24th at 225 and Steve Conway tied for 27th at 226. Travis Johnson and John Merrick tied for 29th at 227.
UC Irvine's Jeff Coburn won individual honors in a playoff against New Mexico's Jae Choi. Both players were tied after 54 holes at 211, five-under par.
