UCLA-Arizona Postgame Quotes
By: UCLA Athletics

Feb. 14, 2002

Recap| Box Score

UCLA Head Coach Kathy Olivier
"Arizona went on a run. They were hitting everything tonight. We were down by eight at halftime and then next thing I knew we were down by 20. Joan Bonvicini is good. She can get their team going and get them ready for the tournament."

"Arizona is a very talented team. I'm very surprised with their conference record. Elizabeth Pickney can rebound very well. If you take Pickney and Krista Warren out then you leave the perimeter shooters open. The perimeter shooters were making their shots all night."

"Whitney Jones has been awesome for us all year. She played well tonight. She takes pride in what she does on the court. Sissy Pickett did some good things tonight.

"This has been a frustrating season. Our team gives a lot of effort. We just don't have manpower. We have a small margin of error and when we don't play well teams take advantage of that."

"We have to look to the future. We have a good class coming in next year. The freshmen coming in will do some good things for us."

Arizona Head Coach Joan Bonvicini
"This was a game where we played brilliantly at times and not so brilliantly at times. At the start of the second half was when we were brilliant. Then we let them have a few too many offensive rebounds towards the end. When we went on our run we were playing well inside and out."

"We will take this win with us this weekend when we face (Southern California) SC. Saturday's game is big time and we're going to have to play 40 minutes of basketball. We can't play up and down basketball against SC."

"We need (senior center LaKeisha Taylor) Keisha's intensity and effort out on the court, we need her to get into the training room and rehabilitate. (Senior forward) KristaWarren had some quality minutes tonight, she rebounded well and played with confidence."
