The UCLA women's golf team tied for 10th at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational, hosted by the University of Arizona at The Raven in Sabino Springs.
The Bruins posted a team score of 316, 28-over par, and tied with New Mexico State at 913. Top-ranked Duke won the event with a 54-hole total of 876, 12-over par, followed by Auburn and Arizona at 883, 19-over par.
Individually for the Bruins, freshman Yvonne Choe tied for ninth with three players at 220. Freshman Charlotte Mayorkas tied for 39th at 229 and sophomore Melissa Martin tied for 55th at 234. Junior Vivan Phosomran tied for 63rd at 235 and sophomore Gina Umeck tied for 65th at 236.
Arizona's Lorena Ochoa became the first collegiate golfer ever to win six consecutive tournaments, compiling a three-round total of 207, nine-under par. Tennessee's Tina Schneeberger finished second at four-under par 212 and Texas' Janice Olivencia place third at even par 216.
