Senior Monique Henderson (San Diego, PA/Morse HS) of the UCLA Women's Track & Field Team was selected as the UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Apr. 25-May 1.
Henderson competed in four events and led UCLA to an 85-79 dual meet victory over USC on Saturday. She won the 200m in a meet record, season-best, Pac-10 best and stadium record 22.86. The mark is a NCAA regional qualifying time and ranks No. 4 on the current collegiate chart.
Henderson also won the 400m in a world-leading, stadium record and meet record time of 50.91, another NCAA regional qualifying mark. In the relays, she anchored the Bruins to second-place finishes in the 4x100m (45.06) and in the 4x400m (season-best 3:43.03).
This is Henderson's first UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and the third of her career.
