The second-ranked UCLA women's golf team qualified for its sixth straight NCAA Championship with a second place finish at the NCAA West Regionals Saturday at Washington National Golf Course in Auburn, Wash.
The Bruins posted a score of 296 (+8) in the final round and compiled a 54-hole total of 887 (+23). Purdue won the title with a three-round score of 881 (+17) after posting a score of 298 (+10) on Saturday. Washington placed third at 885 (+24), followed by Stanford at 986 (+32), Georgia at 900 (+36), UNLV at 904 (+40) Arizona at 910 (+46) and Arkansas at 911 (+47).
Individually for the Bruins, senior Susie Mathews and freshman Jane Park tied for fifth place with 54-hole scores of 220 (+4). Mathews posted a score of even par 72 and Park carded a 76 (+4) in the final round. Freshman Tiffany Joh tied for 17th at 225 (+9), sophomore Amie Cochran tied for 24th at 226 (+10) and junior Hannah Jun tied for 32nd at 228 (+12).
Washington's Paige Mackenzie won medalist honors with a three-round total of 208 (-8) after firing a final round score of 71 (-1).
