Brett McMillan Named Freshman All-American

Designated hitter Brett McMillan was named to Collegiate Baseball's Freshman All-America Team on Thursday.

The Shingle Springs native hit .330 on the season with a team-high 16 doubles. He added eight home runs and 35 RBI with 42 runs scored. McMillan hit safely in 42 of 54 games played in 2003, while posting two nine-game hitting streaks.

Last week, McMillan was named a Pac-10 Honorable Mention after leading UCLA with 22 RBI and 25 runs scored in conference action. Four of his 22 conference RBI came with a 12th inning grand slam to lift UCLA to a 9-5 win over Stanford on May 17th.
