Hewko converted both of UCLA's penalty shot opportunities and March scored twice within the first three minutes of action to lead the Bruins. Along with March, David Pietsch and Grant Zider also scored in the first period to give UCLA a 4-0 lead after one frame.
After trading three goals each in the second period, UCLA entered the second half with a 7-3 advantage over the Terriers. The Bruins rattled off three unanswered goals in the third period to lead 10-3 going into the fourth quarter.
UCLA scored four times in the final frame, including two from Chris Pulido, and allowed three Terrier goals to earn the 14-6 victory.
