Bruin Men Look to Defend MPSF Indoor Title This Weekend

This Friday and Saturday, February 27-28, the Bruins will compete at the MPSF Indoor Championships. The meet will take place at Washington's Dempsey Indoor Stadium.

Last season, the Bruins won their second consecutive MPSF Indoor team title, scoring 127.50 points. Stanford came in second, with 99 points, followed by Arizona (74 points). In 2002, UCLA won its first MPSF Indoor team title, scoring 41 points.

Four of last year's six individual event winners return this season. Sophomore Craig Everhart (400m, 47.68) and seniors Dan Ames (WT, 67-9.25), Juaune Armon (LJ, 25-1.25) and Nick Thornton (800m, 1:51.13) look to defent their title. Also returning are juniors Ben Aragon and Martell Munguia from the Bruins' winning distance medley relay (9:52.75).

The Bruins also return three runners-up from last season, juniors Denye Versher (400m, 47.86), Munguia (800m, 1:52.36) and Ames (SP, 64-8.75).
