UCLA's Travis Johnson Advances in PGA TOUR Qualifying

Former UCLA All-American Travis Johnson earned the privilege to advance to the second stage of PGA TOUR Qualifying School by making the cut at the Greg Norman Course at LaQuinta.

Johnson posted rounds of 72-77-70-74--293 (+5) and tied for 17th place. The top 23 players including ties advanced to the next stage at a site to be announced.

Johnson, who placed fifth at the NCAA Championships in June, turned professional a few weeks later. He competed on various mini-tours throughout the summer.
