Los Angeles - UCLA had seven different players score in double figures as the Bruins easily defeated CSU Monterey Bay, 104-41, in an exhibition game at Pauley Pavilion on Thursday night.
Sophomore guard Jordan Farmar scored 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting in his first preseason appearance, while dishing out six assists in 21 minutes of play.
The Otters managed a 1-0 lead over the Bruins on a Richard Jenkins free throw at the 19:13 mark in the first half, but were unable to keep pace with the Bruins after that. UCLA went on a 22-4 run in the next seven minutes of the game and cruised to a commanding 57-16 lead at halftime.
The Bruins shot 55.3 percent (21-38) from the field in the first half, and tallied 16 assists while out-rebounding the Otters 28-16.
UCLA would start the second half on an 18-6 run, and led 75-22 with 12:51 left in the game. The Bruins went on to shoot 62.5 percent (20-32) from the field in the second half, and finished the game with 28 total assists.
UCLA opens its regular season schedule on Tuesday, Nov. 15 against New Mexico State in the opening round of the Preseason NIT in Pauley Pavilion. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
