Sophomore guard Noelle Quinn (Los Angeles, CA/Bishop Montgomery HS) of the UCLA Women's Basketball Team was selected as the UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 22-28.
Quinn led UCLA to a 63-60 upset victory over No. 4 Texas on Sunday, a win that propelled the Bruins into the AP Top 25 for the first time since February 2001. Quinn scored 27 points against Texas, including UCLA's last seven points in the game. She scored the go-ahead basket with 13 seconds to play to give UCLA a 61-60 lead. Texas missed a pair of free throws with six seconds remaining and grabbed the critical rebound and was fouled. She made both free throw shots to increase the lead to the final score of 63-60. Quinn also totaled 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals and did not have a turnover in 40 minutes of play.
Additionally, Quinn scored a game-high 23 points in the 83-52 win over Clemson on Wednesday and added seven steals, four rebounds and three assists. She has scored 20+ point in each of her last three games.
This is Quinn's first UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and third of her career.
