After capturing the Pac-10 Championships Doubles title in Ojai last week, the team of Brandon Kramer and Jong-Min Lee earned an all-time high No. 2 national ranking in the latest edition of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll, which was released May 3.

Last week, the duo was ranked No. 7. They follow top-ranked Alex Kim and Geoff Abrams of Stanford.

In the team rankings, UCLA stayed at No. 2, following the Stanford Cardinal.

In singles, Lee improved from No. 37 to No. 27, while Kramer remained at No. 38. All-American Jean-Noel Grinda, who sat out the earlier portion of the season due to shoulder and back injuries, earned a regular-season high No. 47 ranking. Freshman Jean-Julien Rojer moved up nine spots and checked in at No. 64.

The doubles team of Jean-Noel Grinda and Jean-Julien Rojer are listed at No. 41 in the nation.

The fields for the 64-team NCAA men's tennis tournament will be announced Thursday, May 4. The team draws as well as the single and doubles tournament selections will be available on the NCAA website - www.ncaachampionships.com.

The tournaments begin on campus sites for first and second round play May 12-14. The women's round of 16 through the final is hosted by Pepperdine University May 18-21 and the men's round of 16 is hosted by the University of Georgia May 20-23.

The WingspanBank.com Collegiate Tennis Rankings uses the ITA's point-per-match computer formula. For this ranking period, a team's average (and ranking) is determined by figuring in its best wins and all losses. The WingspanBank.com Collegiate Tennis Rankings are released every Wednesday and include the Top 75 men's and women's teams in the nation. Singles and doubles rankings are released on a bi-weekly basis. A complete listing of the latest rankings are available at www.ITAtennis.com.
