Cross Country Runners Earn Pac-10 All-Academic Honors

LOS ANGELES - Five UCLA cross country runners have earned Pacific-10 All-Academic honors, the conference office announced this week.

Representing the UCLA women's team were seniors, Kara Barnard (3.33gpa, world arts) and Melinda George (3.49, math and applied sciences), both earning second-team honors and junior Kelly Cohn (3.22, undeclared major), who was honorable mention. In 1999, the UCLA women's team advanced to the NCAA Cross Country Championships for the second season in a row.

Representing the Bruin men were junior Scott Abbott (3.61, communications studies), who earned second-team honors and sophomore Bryan Green (3.31, molecular cell and developmental biology), an honorable mention selection.
