LOS ANGELES - Junior driver Peter Belden (Newport BeachCA/Newport Harbor HS) of the UCLA Men's Water Polo Team was selected as the UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 20-26. Belden scored the game-winning goal with eight seconds left in the first overtime period to clinch the Bruins' 6-5 win over top-ranked USC on Sunday. It marked the second time in as many weeks that UCLA has defeated the top-ranked team in the nation. Belden also scored two goals in UCLA's 12-6 victory over UC Santa Barbara on Saturday.
The team captain, Belden has a team-high 17 steals and 12 goals on the season.
This is Belden's first UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
