One former and two current UCLA women's golfers earned Futures Tour exempt status during qualifying rounds in Lakeland, FL during the week of Nov. 2.
The Futures Tour is open to qualifying female amateur and professional golfers. It includes a 17-event tour from March through November with purses ranging from $60,000-$75,000.
Three hundred professional and amateur players participated in the qualifying tournament last week at three courses in Lakeland, FL.
Seniors Hana Kim and Saki Uechi made the Top 50 cut and earned full exempt status for the 2004 Futures Tour. Kim posted rounds of 77-69-76-222 (+6) to tie for 38th, and Uechi carded rounds of 73-75-75-223 (+7) to tie for 46th.
Senior Bridget Dwyer earned Priority Two status by tying for 51st place with scores of 76-73-75-224.
Former UCLA letterwinner Vivan Phosomran tied for 177th at 21-over par.
Fully exempt players are allowed to participate in any or all Futures Tour events for one year. Priority Two qualifiers can enter a tournament based on the number of spots available after fully exempt players commit to participation.
