Bruins Win Two In San Diego

No. 1 UCLA improved to 14-3 overall with victories over UC San Diego and Princeton at UC San Diego earlier today.

In the Bruins first game against No. 10 UC San Diego, the Bruins stormed out to a 7-0 halftime lead against the Tritons. In the second half it would again be all UCLA, as the Bruins would scored four goals to the Tritons one to earn the 11-1 victory.

Kristyn Pulver led all Bruin scorers with three goals, while Natalie Golda and Devon McIntyre each scored twice. Maureen Flanagan, Katherine Belden and Kristina Kunkel each scored once. Goalies Jaime Hipp and Tahlia Kerr combined to shut down the Torros, with Hipp recording three saves and Kerr five.

The Bruins faced No. 17 Princeton in their second game of the day and once again UCLA would jump out to a 7-0 halftime lead. The Bruins would allow a Princeton goal in the second half, but would it would be the only time the Tigers would score in the second half, as UCLA cruised to the 10-1 victory.

Natalie Golda had a hat trick for UCLA, while Mari Joyce, Jessica Lopez, Kelly Rulon, Maureen Flanagan, Lauren Heineck, Katie Flanagan and Kristina Kunkel each scored once.
