The UCLA Blue Team was in seventh place entering the final round of the UC Riverside Braveheart Classic at Oak Valley Golf Club in Beaumont, CA.
The Bruins posted two rounds of 293 (+5) and trailed first-place Cal Poly SLO by 18 strokes. Host UC Riverside was second at 570, followed by Idaho at 572 and UC Santa Barbara at 579. The Bruins trailed sixth place St. Mary's by five shots and fourth place Boise State by six.
Individually, sophomore Chris Heintz posted rounds of 69-68--137 (-7) and was in second place with the final round left to play. He trailed UCR's Brandon Steele (68-66) by three shots. Freshman Brandon Christianson posted rounds of 74-73--147 (+3) and was tied for 33rd and Craig Leslie posted rounds of 74-76--150 (+6) and was tied for 44th. Freshman Matt Marshall was tied for 58th at 152 (+8) after carding rounds of 76-76.
Final round action began on Tuesday.
