Los Angeles -- The NCAA announced Thursday that both the UCLA men's and women's tennis teams have been selected to host first and second-round NCAA Regionals May 12-14 at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.
The No. 2 UCLA men will take on the University of Missouri-Kansas City at Noon on Saturday, May 13. Making up the other two teams at the four-team regional will be Notre Dame and New Mexico State. Those two teams will face off at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The men's final will take place on Sunday at Noon.
The No. 9 UCLA women will host Boston University on Friday, May 12 at 1:00 p.m at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. Georgia Tech and Washington are the other two teams in the regional and will play each other at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Saturday's final will begin at approximately 3:00 p.m.
Also announced Thursday were the NCAA singles and doubles selections. The men had three at-large selections in singles as Jean-Noel Grinda, Jong-Min Lee and Brandon Kramer all received bids. In doubles, Kramer and Lee received an automatic doubles selection.
For the women, Annica Cooper and Sara Walker were selected to compete in the singles championships. In doubles, Amanda Basica/Walker and Elizabeth Schmidt/Abigail Spears will compete in the doubles tournament.
