LOS ANGELES - UCLA newcomers Staci Duncan (San Jose/Archbishop Mitty HS) and Tracey Milburn (Moorpark/Moorpark HS) earned first-team All-Pac-10 honors today. Duncan, a freshman, was UCLA's leading scorer this season with 31 points (11g, 9a) and finished the season ranked second in points and assists and tied for third in goals scored in the Pac-10. Duncan is one of two freshmen to receive first-team honors. Milburn, a sophomore transfer from Pepperdine, was UCLA's second leading scorer with 25 points (11g, 3a). She finished the season ranked sixth in points and tied for third in goals scored in the Pac-10.
Sophomore Venus James (Oakland/Bishop O'Dowd HS) and freshman Breana Boling (San Jose/Presentation HS) round out UCLA's all-conference selections, with both receiving second-team honors. James recorded 21 points this season (10g, 1a), checking in at ninth for points and sixth for goals scored in the Pac-10. Boling rounded out UCLA's scoring arsenal this season, notching 18 points on seven goals and four assists.
This is the first time in school history that two Bruin freshmen have received all-conference honors. UCLA's underclassmen of James, Milburn, Duncan and Boling helped lead the Bruins to back-to-back Pac-10 championships, a 17-4-1 record and UCLA's third trip to the NCAA playoffs.
