Gallagher Named Assistant Coach for World University Games

April 7, 2005

Head Bruin swim coach Cyndi Gallagher has been named as an assistant coach for Team U.S.A. for the World University Games. Gallgher, who is in her 17th season with the Bruins, will head to Izmir, Turkey in August with junior swimmer Kim Vandenberg, who qualified for the Games after her fourth place finish in the 200 Fly at last week's World Trials.

Gallagher, who has a 106-52-1 record at UCLA, led the Bruins to a 6-3 finish this year. The Bruins finished fourth at the Pac-10 Championships and 18th at the NCAA Championships and had six All-American honorees at Nationals.
