Blue Named To Pac-10 All-Tournament Team

March 8, 2005

For the third consecutive year, junior guard Nikki Blue has been selected to the Pac-10 All-Tournament team. Blue scored a career-high 36 points in UCLA's quarterfinal game against Arizona State, one point shy of the all-time Tournament record set by Nicole Powell of Stanford in 2002. Blue also set Pac-10 Tournament records for most field goals in a game (14) and most attempts in a game (29).

Blue becomes the first player in Pac-10 Tournament history to earn all-tournament honors while playing in just one game. She also joins Powell and Stanford senior Kelley Suminski as the only three players to be named to the Pac-10 All-Tournament team three times.

Blue's 36 points increased her season scoring average to a team-best 17.0 points per game and gave her eight 20+ point scoring games in her last nine contests.

Also named to the 2005 All-Tournament team were Suminski, Arizona State's Aubree Johnson and Kristen Kovesdy, USC's Eshaya Murphy, and Tournament Most Outstanding Player Candice Wiggins of Stanford.
