The UCLA men's golf team with six top 10 finishes this season will play in the ASU Thunderbird/Savane Invitational, Apr. 12-13 at ASU's Karsten Golf Course.
The Bruins will field a team of two freshmen, two sophomores and a senior for an event they last won in 1998. In 1999, the Bruins posted a team score of 851, 13-under par, and finished second to Arizona State.
In their last appearance, the Bruins finished third at the Oregon Duck Invitational, recording a 54-hole team score of 854, 10-under par. That score tied the third-best three-round total of Coach Brad Sherfy's six-year tenure.
Freshman John Poucher tied for third place with a 54-hole score of 220, which was six-under par. That score was the Bruins second best three-round total of the season.
Poucher, a Santa Barbara native, leads the Bruins in scoring average at 72.6 in 12 rounds. All 12 rounds have counted in team scoring. He also tied for 18th at the John A. Burns Invitational in February.

Freshman Breene Murphy's 73.6 scoring average ranks third on the team. He boasts a pair of top 20 finishes and three rounds in the 60s.
Fifth-year senior and true sophomore Steve Conway are tied for fourth on the team with scoring averages of 74.8. Conway tied for 19th at the Oregon event, playing the final 36 holes in four-under par.
