Bruins Hit the Road This Week . . .
Eighth-ranked UCLA (5-3) will hit the road this week for its final pair of non-conference matches before Pac-10 play begins next week. On Tuesday, the Bruins head to Malibu for a 1:30 p.m. meeting with Pepperdine (5-1). UCLA leads the all-time series, 37-12, defeating the Waves three times in 2003, including in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Following that match, the Bruins head to Austin, TX for a showdown with No. 16 Texas (4-1) on Sunday at Noon. Texas leads the all-time series, 9-8, however UCLA registered a 6-1 victory at the LATC last year.

* Please Note:Due to a chance of rain on Wednesday, the Pepperdine match was moved up a day to Tuesday.

Rain Delays ASU Match, Cancels Arizona Showdown . . .
Steady rain in the Los Angeles area made life difficult for local schools over the weekend. Friday's match with No. 18 ASU was delayed nearly three and a half hours before the Bruins posted a 5-1 victory under the lights of the LATC. The match started with singles play under the agreement that doubles would only be played if absolutely necessary. Fortunately for UCLA, five Bruins registered straight set singles victories, clinching the dual match. UCLA was supposed to host Arizona on Saturday, however that match was cancelled and is not currently scheduled to be made up.

Bercek Continues Hot Streak . . .
Although she arrived at UCLA just this January, freshman Daniela Bercek has already made her presence felt in a big way. Anchoring UCLA's No. 2 singles position, Bercek is 9-1 overall and 6-0 in dual-match play. She reached the Flight-I singles final at the Pac-10 Indoors, defeating No. 2-ranked Raquel Kops-Jones in the semifinals.
