Head Coach Kathy Olivier
"We're excited to get the 'W,' that's for sure. I thought our team showed a great deal of poise when Oregon came back and they went ahead in the second half. We just stayed focused and kept chipping away and we went on a little bit of a roll and got to where we were playing good basketball. We were playing all-around good defense and were all over the court defensively. Our defense makes our offense go.
"We started the game in our full-court press and it made some things happen for us early. We were not looking ahead but were thinking we can't play that type of basketball for - being optimistic - three-straight games. We wanted to try to do some things early and then get out of it and hopefully our half-court defense would work for us. Oregon did a very good job of working the ball inside and we had to go back to the full court press. That's when we're a better team. Our perimeter really likes getting after it.
"We're going to play a very tough basketball game tomorrow because we're here. We're playing a second game and we're honored to be back. The first time we played Stanford it was at home and we were much more comfortable. Our defense made some things happen for us. At their place things didn't work out at the beginning of the game because Nikki (Blue) got in foul trouble and we can't do that. Both Nikki and Michelle (Greco) will be ready to go tomorrow and I think we'll have some other people ready to go as well. It will be fun to play them on a neutral court. They're playing good basketball and we're playing pretty good basketball, too."
Guard Nikki Blue
"I just pretty much had the feeling. I'm not ready to go home, honestly. Whatever it takes to have our team win, and that was, tonight, me scoring 30 I guess."
Guard Michelle Greco
"We're just excited. We're hoping to go as far as we can. We're looking forward to playing Stanford tomorrow. I think today we really set the tone defensively. We're here to play. There was one stretch where we were diving after balls, going after rebounds against girls that are way taller than us. We're here to play and we're here to battle. We look forward to the challenge against Stanford."
