UCLA golfers Amie Cochran and Hannah Jun earned spots on the 2006 Futures Tour Friday by finishing among the top individuals at the tour's qualifying tournament in Florida.

Cochran, a sophomore, finished seventh with a 72-hole score of 284 (-4). Jun, a junior, tied for 21st at 291 (+3). Cochran posted rounds of 69-68-75-72 and Jun carded scores of 73-74-69-75.

Former Bruins Melissa Martin, Bridget Dwyer and Gina Umeck also qualified.

The field consisted of 312 female amateurs and professionals.

Both players are now eligible to play in Futures Tour events as amateurs during the summer.

Song-Hee Kim, a 17 year-old amateur from South Korea, won the event with an 18-under par score of 270.

Following the event, Cochran joined the UCLA team at the Collegiate Match Play Championships, where the second-seeded Bruins had won their first match and were ahead in their second match prior to the suspension of play due to darkness.
