The UCLA Men's Water Polo Team captured the NCAA National Title this year for the third time in five years. Now, the Bruins are welcoming people to help continue the winning tradition by being a part of the Ninth Annual UCLA Water Polo Scholarship Golf Tournament.
The event is dedicated to the memory of former UCLA Water Polo All-American Jim Toring, who died in 1998 at the age of 23. Jim was a major force in both of UCLA's 1995 and 1996 NCAA Water Polo Championships, sharing Most Valuable Player honors in '95 and scoring the winning goal in the '96 championship match. Jim was also an active participant in UCLA's golf tournament from its inception in 1992.
Proceeds from this tournament will go directly to the UCLA Men's Water Polo Program. The annual event will be held at the Braemar Country Club in Tarzana, Calif. on June 26. Approximately 80-100 golfers participate in the tournament every year.
UCLA is asking merchants to help support the Golf Tournament. There are a number of ways in which to show support:
Tournament Participation: Fee is $190 per golfer. Includes breakfast, BBQ lunch, dinner, all greens and cart fees, personalized golf bag tags and handling, tee gifts including golf balls, tees, golf shirt, caps and more, chances to win raffle and silent auction prizes, as well as a fun day on the links.
Purchasing Tee Signs: Cost is $300. All golfers playing through on the links will see your business' name or message on your tee sign. All Tee-Signs are 100% tax deductible.
