Women's Golf Improves To Fifth At NCAA Preview

The UCLA women's golf team, ranked 22nd in the preseason MasterCard poll, improved to fifth place after 36 holes in the NCAA Fall Preview at Crosswater Club in Sunriver, OR.

The Bruins turned in a team score of 298 and stand at 604 after two days of competition. Top-ranked Duke, behind tournament leader Amie Lehman's second round two-under par 70, fired a team score of 293 for a two-round total of 587. Fourth-ranked USC is second at 593, followed by second-ranked Arizona at 596 and No.10 Arizona State at 597.

Individually for the Bruins, junior Laura Moffat continued her solid play with a second round 74 and is tied for sixth at 147. Senior Amanda Moltke-Leth is tied for ninth at 148 after a second round 73. Junior Leilani Bagby shot her second straight 76 and is tied for 27th at 152. Freshman Jamie Kim shot a 78 on Tuesday and Alicia Um carded a 75.

Final round action continues on Wednesday.
