LOS ANGELES (AP) - With second place on the line in the Pac-10, Arizona and UCLA both look to extend their winning streaks to four games when the teams meet Thursday for the second time this season.

The eighth-ranked Wildcats (17-6, 9-2) are one game behind Stanford for the top spot in the conference, while No. 24 UCLA (15-6, 8-2) trails Arizona by one-half game for second place.

Arizona plays five of its last seven on the road and visits Southern California, which is 6-4 in the conference, on Saturday.

"It is obviously a key weekend because you are talking about two of the top five teams in the league," Arizona coach Lute Olson said. "A whole lot can change by Saturday night."

The Wildcats are coming off an 86-51 win over Washington State. Loren Woods had 18 points, six rebounds, five assists and four blocks as Arizona beat the Cougars for the 32nd straight time.

UCLA jumped back into the Top 25 by winning five of its last six, including a 94-88 victory at DePaul last Saturday.

The Bruins fell from the rankings after a stunning home loss to Cal State-Northridge left them 1-2. They finally re-entered the poll Monday after a three-game winning streak, with all the victories coming on the road.

UCLA's first two wins in the streak were over then-No. 1 Stanford - the Cardinal's first loss of the season - and crosstown rival USC.

The Bruins, scoring 80.9 points per game this season, have averaged 86.0 points during the three consecutive wins.

"We're playing pretty good basketball," said UCLA forward Jason Kapono, who leads the Bruins with 18.1 points per game. "This team has come a long way from that 4-4 start."

Arizona has won four straight and six of the last seven meetings with UCLA, including an 88-63 victory in Tucson on Jan. 20.
