April 10, 2000

It took a team featuring a handful of former UCLA players to take down the UCLA men's soccer team for the first time in the spring, as the Los Angeles Galaxy reserves defeated UCLA 3-0 in an exhibition game at the North Athletic Field.

The Bruins played the Galaxy reserves to a scoreless tie for 80 minutes until the Galaxy scored three goals in the last ten minutes of the contest.

Among the Galaxy players were former Bruin standouts Paul Caligiuri, Adam Frye, Seth George, Zak Ibsen, Matt Reis and Pete Vagenas, as well as German legend Juergen Klinsmann. George scored the Galaxy's third and final goal, and Reis picked up the shutout.

UCLA's spring record falls to 3-1, and the Bruins will play their final spring game on Apr. 27 at 7:00 pm at Cal State Fullerton.
